Our Modern Market events were established to showcase the creativity of Nebraska small shops and their modern or handmade goods, bringing a fun and innovative way for the community to shop small and support one another.
The focus of these events is to help build brand awareness of the small business community in Nebraska, while helping these businesses increase their customer base and giving back to our community through partnering with local charities.
Spring + Fall Modern Market
Modern Market is a high-energy, one-day outdoor shopping event held twice a year in downtown Waterloo, NE. Designed as a parking lot party-style market, it features a dynamic mix of small shop vendors, delicious food and drinks, a live DJ, and plenty of fun.
What sets Modern Market apart is its carefully curated selection of vendors. The event’s collective, bring their eye for trend-forward finds to handpick a diverse lineup. From stylish apparel and home décor to specialty goods and must-have accessories, every vendor is chosen with a modern shopper in mind. This ensures a fresh and exciting shopping experience with something for everyone.

Holiday Modern Market
Holiday Modern Market is a three-day shopping event designed as a festive extension of our Modern Market events. Created by A Local Collective, this unique experience fills a gap in the Omaha market by providing a dedicated holiday shopping destination featuring a curated selection of local vendors. Inspired by similar events Jill and Katie participated in across the Midwest, Holiday Modern Market brings the magic of the season to life with an incredible mix of shopping, food, drinks, music, and more.
Held indoors at a local event venue, this market offers a warm and inviting atmosphere where shoppers can discover thoughtfully selected gifts while enjoying holiday cheer. Families can also soak in the festive spirit with visits from Santa, a kids’ activity area, and plenty of seasonal fun.
Beyond shopping, Holiday Modern Market is proud to partner with Angels Among Us, a local charity that provides financial assistance to families with a child battling cancer. By supporting this event, attendees are not only embracing the joy of the season but also giving back to a meaningful cause.
